Thomas Berthel

Thomas (Tom) Berthel founded Berthel Fisher & Company Financial Services in 1985. He holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa, and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa.

Tom launched the firm after entering the broker-dealer industry, growing it from a small office in downtown Cedar Rapids into the nationally recognized firm it is today. Headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Berthel Fisher & Company also maintains a second location in Manchester, Missouri. The firm now supports more than 400 financial professionals nationwide, employs over 70 team members, and oversees more than $15 billion in assets.

A nationally respected business leader, Tom has served on numerous boards and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for his alma mater, St. Ambrose University. He is also a published author, having co-written Beyond X’s and O’s with the late legendary University of Iowa football coach Hayden Fry.

Outside the office, Tom enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and golfing.
